    I enjoyed your exploration of the context of these works. It made me reflect upon what Satre might have called, the facticity of the artist endeavor. At times, it may be tempting to view art as separate from the artist’s sociopolitical circumstances—La mort de l'auteur. Through your historical fiction literary device, you draw our attention towards these oftentimes ignored circumstances and make a powerful argument about how to understand art.

    Steve,

    Thank you for your generous words as a demanding and attentive reader; and for your enlightened reflection on the factuality shown in the text; in this case, hand in hand with an intertextuality that corresponds to the question of the general culture of Humanity. With Sartre, on the one hand, and with Barthés, on the other, I believe that "The death of the author" comes when the artist, with his work, does not commit himself to the social reality that surrounds him. Now, from another point of view, that same intertextuality mentioned above gives the reader the opportunity to become an interpreter, not a mere descriptor. This is because it is a reconstruction, because the text belongs to the culture, where the author dies when, metaphorically, he disappears. Nice theme that you put on the role Steve.
